Railway Station in Guntur
The government is planning to run a Metro rail in between Guntur, Vijaywada and Tenali. People travel in trains when they have to travel distant cities and towns. Guntur Junction is the main intercity railway station in Guntur. It is the central station and also the divisional headquarters of Guntur Division. This station comes under South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways and is the largest and a really busy station in Guntur Division.
There are 7 platforms here and inter-connected subway system. Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force monitor the security of people travelling in the trains.
